Road Trip To Laramie!!!

Last weekend we headed west to see my parents who are serving a mission for the the Church or Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! They've only been gone about three months, but we wanted to go see them before winter set in. Apparently winters in Wyoming are pretty harsh. We had a great time and the kids were so excited to go see Grandma and Grandpa! While we were there the kids were introduced to the Ipad and the game Angry Birds. They loved playing that game and got to be pretty good.
On Sunday we were able to go to church with my parents and meet the great people in their ward and talk with them. After church we relaxed for awhile and then headed out to the "prairie" to meet some less-active members and non-members. The first family we met was the Shaw family. They're really into gold panning so Gary really enjoyed our time there. They showed us all the cool equipment they use to find gold. Later we headed to the Nielsen's house. Brother Nielsen went to Africa years ago to hunt and now has all the animals he shot on display in his house! Pretty impressive! The kids liked playing with their kids, Skyler and Kanyon.

On Monday we went and met George and Marian Darling. They were so sweet and kind! George has a hobby of fixing up tractors and competing in tractor pulls! Jackson loved looking at all those tractors! They had some horses too, Madi loves horses and had a lot of fun too!

We went to lunch Monday and then drove around town a bit. We went over to show Jackson the train yard. Oh man, this was heaven on earth for Jackson! He had so much fun there. We went up on this bridge and the trains went right under us. It was pretty cool.

Later in the day while Abigail took a nap Gary took the kids back to see more trains! Here's one they saw!

It was so great seeing my parents!! We love them and miss them. We're hoping to go see them again next year. USU Aggies play Wyoming University in Wyoming so we thought it would be fun to go to the game. We'll see.

We enjoyed your visit sooo much. Everyone wants you to come again. It was great watching the excitement of Madi and Jackson by the tractors and trains. Abi seemed to enjoy all the activities, as well. It's fun seeing the exuberance of our wonderful grandchildren. They're lucky to have such good parents who give them these memorable experiences. We love you all!
