Another 4th of July has come and gone... We had a great time this year with friends and family. We kept our tradition of going to the parade in Prove. Kristen, my sister, was kind get up at 4:30am to go save a spot for us to sit and watch the parade.
We enjoyed watching the parade. Jackson loved that there was a HUGE Tom & Jerry balloon. He loves watching that show. There were many marching bands, and of course, what is a Provo parade without ALL the Elders and Sisters from the MTC. It made me think of my parents, who are serving a mission right now. We also saw some Native American dressed up in all their traditional clothes. We were hot in our shorts and t-shirts, they must have been burning up. One of the guys was doing some sort of dance. I can only guess that he was performing a rain dance because when we got up this morning there we RAIN!! We are in much need of rain right now to help put out all nine wild fires that are burning in Utah right now.
After the parade we headed over to Kristen's for a BBQ. We took our waterslide over and the kids had fun playing on that. We stayed there until about 5:30 and then we headed home. Madison stayed the night with the kids, they went and saw "Brave"... Madi loved it.
Jackson fell asleep on the drive home. I was hoping he would go home and go straight to bed, but that didn't happen. It did happen for Abigail though, she went to bed at 6:00 and slept until 9:30 the next morning. Apparently she was tired. Gary, Jackson, and I did fireworks with our neighbors, the Curtis and Schlappi families! We had a good time. We also had a good view of the Quail Fire up in Alpine. It rained most of the day today so hopefully it's out now!!! Happy 4th Everyone!!
